How to Create Stock Category in Tally Prime

Launch Tally Prime

Launch your tally prime software

From gateway of tally screen select create

When you will enter create then there you will see

Inventory masters- so below inventory masters

there is stock category

Enter stock category

Create a new stock category here

Enter the name of stock category for (Example: Kids Wear)

Under: here you can select primary or any other category if you need according to your work and company

Now when you have entered all the details, so you can save the stock category now by pressing enter

Launch Tally Prime > Gateway of Tally > Create >

Select stock category > Enter Details of Stock Category > Save

Important : When you create a stock item, at that time you need to maintain a stock item under a stock group for

Example: Stock item is a T shirt

Stock Group: Clothing

Stock Category: Mens Wear, Womens Wear, Kids Wear

if you are creating a stock item and you cant see a stock category option in stock item creation screen

then you can turn on this option by pressing (F12: Configuration)
